New
This week, we released a handful of updates to the Koofr web app user interface. Our aim was to make the interface even more user friendly by adding intuitive new ways to manage folders and files. We think you'll be able to save quite some time and clicks by using them.
Keyboard shortcuts
The Koofr web app now supports multiple basic keyboard shortcuts. Use shortcuts to navigate, copy and paste, or delete files and folders.
Note: Copy and paste uses the system clipboard, and you'll need to Allow the browser to access the clipboard the first time you use this feature.
You can copy and paste between tabs and windows of the same browser. For security reasons, copy and paste will not work between different browsers.
A full list of shortcuts you can use at this moment:
Moving around:
down arrow: Move one item down
up arrow: Move one item up
left arrow: Move one item to the left (only in tile view)
right arrow: Move one item to the right (only in tile view)
enter / alt + down / cmd + down: Open file or folder
alt + up / cmd + up: Open parent folder
Selecting things:
shift + down: Add item below to selection (if not yet selected) or remove current item from selection (if item below already selected)
shift + up: Add item above to selection (if not yet selected) or remove current item from selection (if item above already selected)
shift + left: Add item to the left to selection (if not yet selected) or remove current item from selection (if item to the left already selected) - only in tile view
shift + right: Add item to the right to selection (if not yet selected) or remove current item from selection (if item to the right already selected) - only in tile view
ctrl + a / cmd + a: Select all
esc: Clear selection (deselect)
File or folder operations:
shift + n: Create new folder
delete / cmd + backspace: Delete current selection (files / folders)
ctrl + c / cmd + c: Copy selected files or folders
ctrl + x / cmd + x: Cut selected files or folders
ctrl + v / cmd + v: Paste selected files or folders (from previous copy or cut)
Breadcrumb context menu
The all-new breadcrumb context menu allows you to edit the folder you're currently in. You can now copy, move, rename, and delete a folder without having to navigate back to the parent folder. You can also download a folder and all its contents from this menu. Just like with other existing methods, this will generate a .zip file containing the selected folder.
We hope you like these improvements to the Koofr web application! As always, we welcome your feedback. Join our Reddit community and let us know what you think.
